Library to close Stuffed Animals displayFebruary 5, 2008
As you may have read on Just Pooh, the real stuffed toys belonging to Christopher Robin can be found in the Donnell Library, which is part of the New York Public Library. The section is due to close in May, preventing children from accessing the amazing books and resources that can be found in the Central Children's room.
The library is being closed to allow for the construction of a large hotel. The library will be rebuilt into a smaller version. In additional to having the stuffed animals, the library also has Mary Poppins's umbrella. It is unclear whether some of the items might be relocated to other parts of the library.
However, the stuffed animals of Winnie the Pooh are due to be relocated to the Humanities and Social Sciences Library on 42nd Street and will be available for viewing by the public during the closure.
