Gangster Nabbed Thanks to Winnie the Pooh

August 8, 2010

One of Italy's most dreaded gangsters has been arrested after eluding the cops for 7-years after it was traced that his wife' s cell phone was registered by the name of 'Winnie the Pooh'.

Vittorio Pirozzi, 58, the man listed in Italy's as being amongst the 100 most wanted criminals has been arrested. He has been eluding the cops from 2003 during which he allegedly was part of drug-trafficking operations in Belgium and Spain.

During their hunt for Vittorio the police realized that his wife had a fond liking for Winnie the Pooh and would always make use of A. A. Milne's frictional bear character to register her cell phone or even make other purchases.

It was during one of her conversations with her husband that the police were able to trace Vittorio to Brussels in Germany where he was successfully arrested on August 8. Vittorio has been extradited back to Italy and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Really, thanks to Winnie the Pooh a criminal has been convicted of his crimes and sentenced to jail.
