Teddy bears Lost and foundAugust 24, 2010
Are you an owner of a bear and happen to have lost it? Well read this shocking piece of news and you might as well know that you are not the only one.
This is an alarming statistic: Each year travellers leave behind teddy bears in thousands, 75,000 to be precise and that is a figure complied by just one hotel chain. Travelodge is a hotel chain that actually keeps track of teddy bears left behind by owners. Each year the hotel keeps track: 75,000 bears lost and reunited with anxious owners.
While the hotel claims that because of the records it has it is able to return these bears to their actual owners but they also decided to get to the bottom of the reason behind why so many owners misplace their bears. After conducting a survey sampling 6,000 adults, the results were equally shocking.
It turns out that one in every three bear owner in Britain is a grown-up. The average age of the bear owners is 27 years and 25% of them are men who admit that they carry their teddies with them to remind them of home (to get over home sickness probably). And of all things they still manage to lose these bears.
Amongst the different kind of bears the traditional bear is the most popular one followed closely by Winnie the Pooh and Paddington Bear. The one message that is common for bear teddies - "Please look after this bear. Thank you".
