Pooh Copyrights Sold to Disney for Another Twenty Years

The members of the London society Garrick Club have decided to sell the Winnie the Pooh copyright to Walt Disney for another twenty years. The creator of the honey loving bear Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne, left in his will the copyright to five beneficiaries, under which the Garrick Club. Disney pays approximately 60 million dollars for the right to make Winnie the Pooh films until 2026. Disney already has the official rights to make Winnie the Pooh movies until 2006.
