Know a few more facts about Winnie the Pooh

A pig is the best friend of Winnie the Pooh and we all know who he is, don't we? For those who do not yet know - here are the names of all the animals that live with Pooh in the Hundred Acre Wood. They are Eeyore (donkey), Tigger (tiger), Gopher, Roo (joey), Kanga (mother Kangaroo), Rabbit (a rabbit), Owl (an owl), & Piglet (pig). Ah, now you have the answers!

Alan Alexander Milne (1882-1956) wrote the children's books and poems Winnie the Pooh. He has a son named Christopher Robin Milne (1920-1996) who was the human character in his books.

The 1st Winnie the Pooh book was "Winnie the Pooh," which was published in 1926, and the other being "The House at Pooh Corner," which was published later in 1928.

"Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree" was the 1st film in which Winnie the Pooh starred, the film was a twenty-six minute cartoon by Disney released in 1966. In 1961, Mrs. Daphne Milne, wife of Alan Alexander Milne sold the film rights of Winnie the Pooh stories to Walt Disney.

There is a sign over the door at Pooh's house which says "Mr. Sanders." This name belongs to the person who resided at the very address prior to Pooh making it his house.

It terms of merchandise and other retails sales for Disney, Winnie the Pooh is ranked only second to Mickey Mouse for any cartoon character franchise.
