The character of Winnie-the-Pooh is illusory; this "hunny"- crazy bear was given life by A.A. Milne, a British author in the 1920's. The finishing touches to the Pooh drawings were done courtesy E.H. Shepard. Pooh resides at the Hundred Acre Wood, with his friends Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Piglet, Rabbit, Tigger, Owl, and Christopher Robin, A.A. Milne son. (Christopher's stuffed bear was named Pooh.) In 1961, Walt Disney Co bought the motion-picture & licensing rights and later did away with the hyphens in the name.

Thereafter, there have been many featurettes showing Pooh, films, video games and TV shows. Stuffed toys in the shape of Pooh bears generate massive sales. All across the globe Pooh appears prominently in Disney theme parks. Pooh has The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride at Walt Disney Disneyland, World's Magic Kingdom & Hong Kong Disneyland additionally there is Pooh's Hunny Hut ride located at Tokyo Disneyland. Pooh was also accorded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in April of 2006.
