Family gets a bear hug!

December 11, 2007

Winnie the Pooh and his friends are a classic tale of books written by A.A. Milne and even till this date its stories and poems appeal to a wide range of people, kids and mature people alike. What stands out in this production is that it avoids the usual pitfalls that are often associated with children’s theater. It rather attempts to capture the essence of the text and progress at a gentle pace allowing children to grasp things comfortably.

Andrew Laubscher plays the role of Pooh bear and is quite effective too but he does not score a perfect 10 thus leaving room for the other character to display their own versatility. The costumes add to the overall splendor and the one worn by Nathan Fredericks for his role as Eeyore stands out. Ryan Coetsse plays the exuberant Tigger that left the audience cheering and applauding. The performance of the entire crew left all those present spellbound.
