Tigger & Pooh are now Digital!July 13, 2007
Thanks to computer graphics (CG) Winnie the Pooh and the rest of his friends are alive and kicking. My Friends Tigger and Pooh is a brand new series from Walt Disney’s ‘Disney Playhouse’, starting May 12, 2007 at 10:00am. It shall be only the 4th TV series for A.A. Milne’s classic characters. The person behind turning Pooh from 2D traditional character into a 3D version is Brain Hohlfeld, the same person who wrote the script for Pooh’s two films (Pooh’s Heffalump Movie and Piglet’s Big Movie). He was also entrusted with the task to create an entertaining and educative story-line. In a telephonic interview Brain Hohlfeld said “I think CG makes Hundred Acre Wood so much more real and magical. I also think it improves the storytelling.”
With the advent of this new Pooh series Disney has introduced two new characters to the world of Winnie the Pooh, a six year old girl named Darby and her cute dog Buster. The story is about Darby who along with her dog make friends with Tigger and Pooh and then soon set out on fact finding adventures all through the Hundred Acre Wood. Each of the episodes involves solving of a mystery by Darby, Pooh and Tigger. To find the solution these three do a quick make over and dress-up in super-hero costumes and are then known as Super Sleuths. In each story when a problem comes upfront the characters will call upon the audience to help.
