Hospice receives help from Winnie the PoohNovember 7, 2007
The staff at St. Peter’s Hospice shop in The Triangle got lucky when the found a ‘Honey Pot’ in a donation bag which contained a rare 1st edition book of Winnie the Pooh. Shop manager Jackie Taylor said that he knew the book was a valuable object and therefore he immediately called Clevedon Salesroom who in turn advised Hospice to put it on auction with a reserve price of £200.
Clevedon Salesroom’s saleroom manager Mark Fraser had this to say about the rare Pooh book “The book was in fair condition and had the all important dust cover. Without the cover it would probably have achieved no more than £50.” To the amazement of Hospice the book fetched an astonishing £750.
