Pooh DVD Movie Details Announced
July 11, 2011Bring the Hundred-Acre Wood home as the all new full-length family favourite is available on Disney DVD from 22 August 2011.
Walt Disney Animation Studios returns to the Hundred Acre Wood with "Winnie the Pooh", the first big-screen Pooh adventure from Disney animation in more than 35 years.
With the charm, wit and whimsy of the original Winnie the Pooh featurettes, this all-new movie reunites audiences with the philosophical "bear of very little brain" and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga, Roo—and last, but certainly not least, Eeyore, who has lost his tail. "Well a tail is either there or it isn't there," said Winnie the Pooh. "And yours isn't… there."
On top of Eeyore's misfortune, a minor misunderstanding sees owl send the whole gang set off on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit. It turns out to be a very busy day for Pooh bear who simply set out to find some hunny.
Narrated by John Cleese, featuring all-star voices including Jim Cummings and Craig Ferguson and music from US superstar Zooey Deschamel, Winnie the Pooh is inspired by five stories from AA Milne’s books in Disney’s classic hand-drawn art style. Created by Burny Mattinson (The Lion King, Beauty & the Beast) and Andreas Deja (The Little Mermaid, The Lion King) Winnie the Pooh is executive produced by John Lasseter and is available to buy on DVD from 22 August 2011.
Is there any honey in that bucket?
April 20, 2011
It seems history can repeat itself, especially when it comes to the antics of young bears. As reported in these very pages back in August 2010, when the famous scene of Winnie the Pooh with his head stuck tight in a honey jar was reenacted for real by some wild bears in Florida and Ontario; well it has happened again.
This time a four month old Polar bear at a Zoo in Denmark has managed to get his head seemingly stuck in a blue bucket, at first shocking the Zoo Keepers. However, it seems Augo the bear is just playing and is able to free himself from his encumbrance. This experience doesn’t seem to bother the adorable Augo and it’s not long before his mischievous nature leads him back into the bucket again. His delightful antics are proving a real hit at the Aalborg Zoo where onlookers have been flocking to see Augo and to make that Pooh comparison for themselves.
Pooh Movie Soundtrack
April 16, 2011The new Winnie the Pooh movie soundtrack has now been released and as mentioned in our movie review the soundtrack features vocals from self proclaimed Pooh fan Zooey Deschanel (‘Almost Famous’ ‘500 Days of Summer’). Actress/musician /songwriter Zooey sings and writes on a number of tracks from the new Pooh animation along with her She & Him partner M.Ward.
Performing the movie’s theme song ‘A very Important Thing to Do’ and contributing the track used for the end credits ’So Long’, Zooey also contributes vocals on ‘Pooh’s Finale’ and the main title sequence.

Director Don Hall thinks she was the perfect choice to do the ‘Winnie the Pooh’ song - “Her music actually embodies the underlying spirit of the movie’’ he said.
Henry Jackman composed the original score while Robert Lopez and his wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez provide seven original songs. Winnie The Pooh Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was released on April 11th, while ‘Winnie the Pooh’ the movie opens in the UK on April 15th and in the U.S from July 15th.
